When Mr. Coates transitioned to Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals for continued care due to complications from open-heart surgery, he was on a ventilator. In addition, Mr. Coates needed total assistance for his mobility.
In less than three weeks in our care, our respiratory therapy team weaned Mr. Coates from the ventilator! Alongside this improvement, our rehabilitation team rebuilt Mr. Coates’ strength. He was able to transfer with minimal assistance and was walking 200 feet with a rolling walker. With this progress, our case managers discharged Mr. Coates home!
In a recent visit to our hospital, Mr. Coates shared his gratitude for our team. He is now fully independent and credits his recovery to “the great care at Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals.”
