After spending one month in the ICU, Mr. Diaz, a veteran, transferred to Cornerstone to receive specialized care from COVID19 complications, including pneumonia. Upon arrival, he was on a ventilator with a tracheostomy tube and needed assistance with his mobility.
From day one of his treatment plan, Mr. Diaz’s family played an integral role in his recovery. They supported him as he worked with our respiratory and rehabilitation teams to rebuild his strength and endurance.
Today, Mr. Diaz is home with his wife and children! When he was discharged from our hospital, Mr. Diaz was weaned from the ventilator and the tracheostomy tube! His mobility improved, and he was walking through our hospital halls!
