Mr. Wong

“Everyone from the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, technicians, wound care team, receptionists, and housekeepers, cheered my husband on as he met and surpassed each of the goals set for him.”
After spending one month in the ICU fighting for his life, Mr. Wong transitioned to Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Broken Arrow to receive continued care for COVID-19. When Mr. Wong arrived, he was on a ventilator, needed a feeding tube, and was unable to move without assistance.
Although COVID-19 left Mr. Wong limited in his abilities, his wife helped communicate his needs. Our team members collaborated with her on a treatment plan designed to empower Mr. Wong to rebuild his life.
Thanks to Mr. Wong’s perseverance and the dedication of our team, Mr. Wong made great strides. Upon discharge to his home, Mr. Wong was weaned from the ventilator! He was able to walk 300 feet with a rolling walker and enjoy a regular diet!
In a recent visit to our hospital, Mr. Wong shared his gratitude for the team who motivated him to regain his independence. Congratulations, Mr. Wong!
